BEING VISITED BY AN ACTIVIST GROUP

Being a student in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, the one thing I hate the most are activist groups. Y'all probably know that I really hate activists. I feel like all of their advocates are useless and their information are biased and untrue. But, you wouldn't be able to get away from them seeing that one of your professors could be an activist themselves. Anyways, let me tell you the story of being visited by one of our most infamous activist group [I don't want to advertise them, they are literally a piece of shit].

Today, our General Mathematics professor was absent (shocking), since we usually rake our brains in and out every time we have a class we usually spend those vacant time trying to relax, catch up with our friends, our spend our time leisurely. Suddenly, this tall dude wearing a glasses with a beard and mustache that aren't trimmed [I know immediately I hate him], asked if they could discuss about something in the class, our class president being the wuss he is didn't bother to say no, so we had to endure 15 minutes of fake news.

This guy went in started roaming the classroom and told us about all of these things that needs to be fixed. He told us that the Duterte administration specifically are killing our farmers, not doing enough work to improve our agriculture, does not care of our education since its not free, charging us of taxes, conducting extrajudicial killing, and is bombing 'farmers' in Batangas. He also told us that president Duterte is doing everything in his power to gain more power, seize more land for himself, earn more money, and make the country poorer.

It took my entire will not to stand up and confront this dude.

Here's the thing, I love reading news, I don't believe there's only one side of the story, I believe that there's always three sides in a story: my side, their side, and the truth, but what this dude is saying is literally bullshit. Let me explain shit.

The Duterte administration specifically are not the ones killing our farmers. Our farmers have been dying since Marcos' era, even the so-called saint Cory Aquino you worshiped, initiated massacres to stop them obtaining any piece of the land they are working for. Killing our farmers is not a new thing, and most of the time that happens because of the military's actions not the administration itself. In fact Duterte is planning to pass new bills and laws to improve the lives of our farmers, and yet not one of you activists bother to learn this!

Another thing that these stupid people are fighting for are free education and better facilities, like, why? There are 7,641 islands in the country, each island has a school and most of the time each of those islands has at least 5 schools. The government supports every public school in the country, can you imagine how much money this is going to cost? The government will pay for facilities, utilities, teachers, infirmaries, qualified doctors, and sometimes even free lunches, that's a lot. I am very privileged to be studying whilst I'm not paying for a tuition fee, the same could be said to the 10,000+ senior high school students in the same school, imagine 10,000+ students not paying for a single cent for education, where would the university get the money to find teachers that are willing to teach 50 students per class?

They also talked about better facilities and this one literally makes me laugh. Those activist groups are literally the same people who vandalizes the school to share their advocate, and students themselves are the one ruining facilities. There was even a time when activists burned school property to shout their protests, the fuck?

Okay, let's move on. Let's talk about taxes. I am not pro-Marcos and I am not an anti as well. I understand why he had to do all of these things and yet I condone his actions in killing innocent civilians, I also condone his actions in making the country poorer. He had a whooping $20 trillion debt to the world bank and since his defeat in the EDSA revolution the country has been paying for it. Now, how do the country pays his debt? That's easy! Taxes.

Taxes are literally what makes the Philippines go round, we pay for our debt, we get infrastructure, we get roads, education, and we get to have jobs. So, tell me, how the hell are we going to afford any of these stuffs if we stop collecting taxes? Do you think money grows on trees? Do you think money is granted by a genie that came out a lamp? No! That money comes from the people within the country, and those money are obtained by taxes. I don't get why people think paying tax is uncool. You're literally helping the country and everyone within, and the Philippines' tax is so damn low that in comparison to our ASEAN neighbors we look cheap. ARRGHH, like why, do people think taxes are the evil incarnate? Taxes makes the whole country stable!

Let's talk about the killings. Did you know that the president is not supporting the killings happening in the country? Did you know that? In fact, the President even met with Kian's parents despite news that the President is the one who ordered his death? No? People [or just activist groups in general] are stupid. There has been reports that other drug cartels are actually the ones killing their own kin to gain sympathy from the masses and to make innocent civilians angry at the president. There has been reports people dressing up as policemen to make it look like policemen are the ones killing people. So, tell me, why do you only blame the president and not the others? Also, about that Batangas infamous aerial bombing, it looks like they were targeting insurgents, and some of those insurgents just happened to be farmers but that doesn't mean they are killing farmers per se.

There's a lot of things wrong with these activists groups. Where the hell do they get their information? I wonder if I stood up to them and asked them to have a formal debate, they'll just leave my presence and scream fascism.

Anyways, that's all for today!
