NEWS REGARDING EXID - SOLJI ISN'T QUITTING YOU HATERS!


I forgot to make a blog post regarding EXID when they released their latest comeback 'DDD'-I know, shun me. Anyways, EXID released a new mini album called "Full Moon" which is a continuation to the 'Eclipse' series. If you are unfamiliar regarding the story, short story is, their leader named Heo Solji was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last year and since then she has to take a hiatus. Banana Culture [their company] and EXID agreed that it would be best for everyone if Solji takes a break to avoid making her illness worse. Despite all the hurdles, EXID released a mini album 'Eclipse', they named it 'Eclipse' to show that without Solji they won't be complete but that doesn't mean that they won't be complete soon. Eclipse's title track is: Night Rather than Day


After releasing this, they went on winning 3 music show awards and the album was critically acclaimed, praising how versatile EXID is in terms of their music.

On August 2017 this happened:


Solji surprised them by appearing mid-way in the quadruplet's performance of 'Like the Seasons'- a song dedicated to their fans. Due to this event, many speculated that Solji will return with EXID in their latest comeback on November 2017. Banana Culture then later confirmed that Solji will come back in the group's comeback. She did, but after participating in the group's hectic activity her health deteriorated which made Banana Culture retract their statement saying that Solji will only participate in the production but not with the promoting.

Their title track DDD was banned by KBS because of explicit lyrics which they later changed and got green lit for it to be performed. This made the song trending even before the song was released. They then later performed it a day earlier at Pyeongchang's Dream Concert.


They released DDD and it topped the charts and won 1 music show award before promotion period stopped.

Now, when this was all occurring, this video became trending in the fandom:


Solji started getting hate comments telling her that she's using her member's hard earned money, that she should leave the group, that the four of them sounds better without her. This made the EXID members (and mine) cry.

Now, why am I writing this?

Because on December 5, 2017, a classmate of mine said that Solji will start straying away from the group then will suddenly leave the group like how most K-Pop idols do. I got angry at her and told her that it isn't true, and she threw this argument that Solji has been sick since December 2016 so why is she not healing? Well, darling, hyperthyroidism is different from the flu or the common cold, you don't suddenly heal after taking your antibiotic and lots of water, the disease is actually serious and fatal if left untreated, so don't you tell me that Solji is quitting from the group because if you are a true LEGGO, you would see that nothing would destroy their relationship with one another and you, an outsider,is just wasting your time!

THE SOGIE BILL AND WHY IT MATTERS

Chances are you've heard of the SOGIE bill and if you haven't, let me explain them to you. SOGIE bill is an Act Prohibiting Discrimination on the Basis of Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity or Expression (SOGIE) and Providing Penalties Therefor, basically the bill will be passed to make sure that everybody not inside the spectrum of heterosexuality will be protected under the law. There's not much to tackle with the bill, it will give the LGBTQIA+ community the same laws that protects straight people, so it should not be that 'controversial'.
